DJI Smart Controller Now Compatible With The Mavic Air 2

A few weeks back DJI released a firmware update for the smart controller to make it compatible with the Mavic Air 2. I did upload a demonstration video to YouTube on day one of the release but I am a little late getting the blog version online. A couple of things to note if you own the Smart Controller and you are going to update it with the latest firmware to make the Mavic Air 2 compatible. If you watch the video you will notice I first tried to update the firmware over the air via the smart controller and it failed. DJI does state that this firmware update should be updated via the “DJI Assistant 2” for Mavic. You can download the DJI Assistant 2 app for Mac or PC on the DJI website by going to the download section of the Mavic Air 2 page.

This new compatibility is something that many Mavic Air 2 pilots have been waiting for since the Mavic Air 2 was released. The flight experience is just incredible with the Smart Controller, you have a nice bright screen and no messing around mounting phones in the controller. Watch our demonstration video below.
