  • Choose a wide, open area with no overhead obstacles like trees or wires.
  • Place the drone on a flat surface with the camera facing away from you.
  • Make sure GPS and vision sensors are working properly (status will show in the app).

The DJI Neo uses intelligent flight modes with no manual joystick flying:

QuickShots (Auto flight modes)

Choose from built-in cinematic modes such as:

  • Follow Me – The drone tracks and films you automatically.
  • Orbit – Circles around you while recording.
  • Zoom Out – Flies back while gaining altitude for a dramatic view.
  • Rocket – Shoots straight up while keeping the camera on you.

Each mode runs automatically and lands or hovers once complete.

  • You can switch between photo and video mode in the app interface.

7. Returning and Landing

  • Auto-land: Tap the Land button in the app, and the drone will safely descend.

Always monitor battery levels and be ready to land safely.

8. Safety Tips

  • Only fly in clear, calm weather conditions.
  • Keep the drone within visual line of sight.
  • Stay away from people, animals, and restricted areas.
  • Don’t fly near airports or over crowds.

The DJI Neo stores footage internally or on an SD card (if supported).
To transfer videos and photos:

  • Use the DJI Fly app to download directly to your phone via Wi-Fi.
  • Or connect the drone via USB-C to a computer.

10. Maintenance and Care

  • Wipe the camera lens gently with a microfiber cloth.
  • Inspect propellers for cracks or damage before flying.
  • Keep the drone dry and store in its case when not in use.
  • Regularly check the app for firmware updates.

Final Thoughts

The DJI Neo is made for simplicity, letting you focus on capturing memories rather than learning complex flight controls. It’s ideal for casual creators, travelers, and anyone wanting drone footage without the learning curve. Just charge it, connect your phone, and let it fly — the drone does the rest.

Enjoy the skies!
