Mavic Air 2 Firmware Update v01.00.0511 | New Cruise Control Feature

In our latest video, we are testing out some of the new features added to the DJI Mavic Air 2 with the new firmware update v.01.00.0511. This new firmware update that was released on December 28, 2020, brings a new feature called cruise control when capturing a hyper-lapse in free mode. This allows you to set your cruise speed while still allowing you to adjust the altitude and direction of your drone. It works very well and is a welcome new feature. The other change made with this new firmware update is the behavior when you use the “return to home” and you are within 5m to 50m of the drone. Engaging return to home at this range will send the drone home at its current altitude and not the return to home altitude you have set in the settings.

Some things to note: You must also update your DJI fly app to the latest version v1.2.2 to make use of these new features. As of the publishing of this post, this firmware update is for iOS devices only, The Android update will be available soon. Watch our video to see a demonstration of these new features.
